Tactical Shotgun Course
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively and safely employ a shotgun for home defense and personal protection. Instruction will focus on fundamental shooting skills, weapon manipulation, close-quarters combat (CQC) techniques based on 88 Tactical’s Reality Behavior-Based Conditioning©, and tactical decision-making. This course is not for clay/trap shooting, or hunting with shotguns.

- Shotgun fundamentals
- Types of shotguns and their applications
- Ammunition selection
- Proper weapon handling and safety procedures
- Basic shooting techniques (stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control)
The required equipment is available for purchase or rent prior to class.
- Tactical style shotgun, pump or semi-auto, no single shot shotguns or bolt action shotguns
- Eye and ear protection appropriate for the range
- 40 rounds of “00” Buck, 20 slugs, 40 rounds of birdshot (Birdshot must be purchased in our Pro Shop, or approved by the instructor)
- Spare batteries for any optics and the user manual for the optic
- Students must be age 16 and above
- Familiarity with handling a shotgun
- Intro to Carbine, Intro to Handgun, or equivalent skill level
- Valid government ID
