Chris LaPorte

LE Instructor | Firearms & CQC Tactics

Chris has been with 88 Tactical since May 2020. He is a prior Police Officer with 23 years experience on patrol in Colorado. During his law enforcement career, Chris spent 18 years on a SWAT team as a Team Leader and Assistant Team Commander.  Most of his patrol career was spent as a Patrol Sergeant, and also as an instructor/trainer for his departments. Chris spent time instructing at the Police/Sheriff academy level, corrections, and patrol officers, and also SWAT operators in firearms, tactics, and defensive tactics. Chris has an MMA background and is a Krav Maga instructor. He is also certified in several knife fighting and knife defensive techniques.  

Chris currently teaches all levels of Handgun, Carbine, Self-Defense, and Edged Weapons at 88 Tactical. Chris is also tasked with development and supervision of all other instructors at 88 Tactical.  He also assists on the 88 Tactical Mobile Training Team with High Threat CQC, Basic SWAT, and Rural ops.  

Chris has a passion for training people and enjoys seeing his students develop tactical skills. He owned a CrossFit in Colorado and still enjoys working out and running the local Nebraska lakes and trails with his German Shepard on weekends. Camping and fishing in Colorado and South Dakota with his two sons and daughter are his favorite summertime getaways.
