Advanced Sniper Training
The modern-day sniper’s role is now being used for any mission that requires precision in any environment. Snipers are being tasked to secure arenas, stadiums, large outdoor venues, engaging at longer distances, deploying against heavily armed attackers, and night operations. As missions change from basic prone bipod shooting to ultra-stable tripod platforms to gain superior precision, advanced sniper training is required.
The 3-day advanced sniper training course is designed to take precision shots from unconventional positions utilizing tripods out to 400 yards. The student will learn how to build a stable final firing position when deploying a tripod, barricade, or unconventional support. Officers will learn the criteria for selecting and building a hide site and fire from various hide sites and positions. Students will learn their ballistic performances and the limitations of their duty ammunition. Upon completion, students will be required to successfully pass the qualification.
