Mike Sackett is a former team leader of the FBI Hostage Rescue Team (HRT). His law enforcement experience spans 30 years, including 24 years as a Special Agent with the FBI. His duties as an agent included working violent crimes, training, firearms and SWAT.
With the HRT Mike specialized in vehicle tactics and bus/train/mobile assaults. Sackett has extensive experience teaching CQB, Aircraft Assaults, Executive Protection, Handgun, Rifle, and he was Defensive Tactics/Hand-to-Hand Combat program manager while on the team.
Sackett has overseen major operations in the United States with considerable foreign travel for terrorist renditions, force protection, executive protection (Department of Justice and FBI executives) and training with numerous counter-terror teams. He has trained and worked with many of the Army and Navy Special Operation teams and has provided training for various FBI, State and local SWAT teams throughout the US.
Sackett capped off his career with the FBI in 2012 as Principal Firearms Instructor and SWAT team leader. Even in retirement, he remains an obvious asset to the 88 Tactical Group.
