Shawn Whittington is a licensed Tactical Paramedic, and has been working professionally in the EMS/Fire industry since 1991. He has been a firearms and self-defense instructor since 1998, and he has developed and taught his own curriculum. Since 2006, Whittington has been a member of the Omaha Fire Department Tactical Medic program where he has trained with and provided close medical support to three separate SWAT teams. He is a former NRA and Concealed Handgun Permit Instructor. He was heavily involved in IPSC/IDPA for many years, and shot Master Class in the CDP Division.
Shawn has been instrumental in developing our “Tac Med” program at 88 Tactical where he has taught numerous federal and local law enforcement and military personnel. He has also taken the lead in developing the FAST program for our Anit-Bully/Anti-Abduction program for teens and kids in this community. Shawn has trained extensively with Bill Kipp, a Hall of Fame Inductee to Black Belt magazine, and creator of the FAST program. (Fear, Adrenaline, Stress Training)
In addition to being BCCPT TP-C certified and Nebraska certified Law Enforcement Officer and Fire Investigator, Shawn is one of about 20 individuals worldwide who have successfully passed the shooting qualifiers for all six levels of STRIKE Tactical’s Police Pistol Gunfighting training. His qualifications include training in defensive handgun, rifle, edged weapons and unarmed combatives, taught by some of the best civilian and LE instructors in the country.
