About the Instructor
Following a successful 20-year career in some of the military’s top counterterrorist organizations and thereafter in Corporate America as a risk manager, Paul Hein has been selected to head the company’s Security & Risk Assessment Program.
After retiring from the military, Paul was responsible for all business functions in Latin America for a US-based security consulting company. As head of insurance-driven asset protection services, where he managed over 300 special security personnel, he assisted in the negotiation and release of six kidnapped expats, disrupted a major extortion ring, and prevented the attempted killing of a country director and his family.
He was later hired as Director of Asset Protection for a major US corporation, where he developed programs to mitigate business interruption due to natural or manmade events. In the first year, he took on additional duties developing and leading the company’s anti-counterfeiting program under the intellectual property department.
In the first six months, programs Paul initiated removed an estimated $4 million worth of counterfeited goods in Asia alone. Since relocating to Omaha, NE, in 2007 Paul has continued to apply his skills and experience supporting US counterinsurgency efforts as a mentor in Iraq, Afghanistan, and more recently, in Africa.
