Youth Intro to Handgun Course

Youth Intro to Handgun is designed to instill a deep understanding of firearm safety principles among young individuals. In today’s world, where access to firearms is prevalent, it’s crucial to educate our youth about responsible and safe firearm handling, regardless of whether they currently have access to a handgun or not. Our comprehensive curriculum focuses on fostering a culture of safety, respect, and mindfulness around firearms. The course introduces new youth shooters to safe use, storage, and operation of a handgun and consists of lecture, demonstration, dry-fire practice, and a brief live-fire session. Students will learn about different types of pistols and ammunition, weapon maintenance, misfires, the fundamentals of marksmanship, and more.

Youth Intro to Handgun is offered to youth from the ages of 10 years old to 17 years old. If a youth under 10 years of age wants to participate, they must take the Youth Gun Safety course first and have that instructor approve them for this class. If the youth is not familiar at all with any firearms, we also recommend they attend the Youth Gun Safety course first.

Our goal is not only to impart practical skills but also to cultivate a mindset of responsibility, respect, and maturity when it comes to firearms. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to handle handguns safely, whether for sport, self-defense, or any other lawful purpose.

  • Eye and ear protection
  • Glock or Sig .22 caliber handgun rental (Or instructor approved firearm)
  • 50 rounds of quality ammunition
  • All of these supplied for each student at no additional cost

We require the student to use one of our approved Youth Safety Handguns. We supply either a Glock .22 Caliber handgun or Sig Sauer .22 Caliber Handgun. We require students to use these firearms unless an instructor has approved a different handgun or caliber. These handguns are supplied for the class and there is no additional rental fee for students. 50 rounds of .22 ammo is also included with the purchase of these class.
