Navigating Nebraska’s New Concealed Carry Law

In a recent interview with KETV News, 88 Tactical’s Director of Training, Trevor Thrasher, shared his insight into the change in Nebraska’s policy regarding concealed carry permits that will go into effect this September and what it means for the community. He emphasized that while the state will no longer require a permit to carry a concealed handgun, continuous and realistic training remains essential for gun owners.

“Owning and carrying a gun is a huge responsibility that requires restraint, constant practice, and learning about ways to avoid danger,” Trevor explained. “Legal, responsible gun owners don’t pose a threat.”

Also featured in this interview is Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson and Sergeant Jon Gorden in charge of firearms training for Omaha Police, who shared their thoughts and concerns about the new open carry law. Both agree that with more guns on the street comes more responsibility to target the right mindset.
