This course introduces new shooters to safe use, storage, and operation of a handgun. The Intro to Handgun class consists of lecture, demonstration, dry-fire practice, and a brief live-fire session. Students will learn about different types of pistols and ammunition, weapon maintenance, misfires, the fundamentals of marksmanship, and more.
88 Tactical recruits and retains the industry’s most experienced instructor cadre from the special operations military, law enforcement, and fire and rescue – many of whom continue to serve today. Our instructors will answer all the questions a new shooter may have and will suggest equipment that will make your shooting experience more enjoyable.
Equipment Requirements
- Eye and ear protection
- Pistol or revolver in proper working order (to be unloaded and stored in case prior to arrival)
- 50 rounds of quality ammunition
Eligibility Requirements
Students must be at least 18 years old, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. The student or parent/legal guardian signing the waiver must have a valid government issued I.D.
Note
The required equipment is available for purchase or rent prior to class. This is a great way to try a handgun before you purchase.
*Lunch, dinner and snacks are available for purchase at the Ammo Box Café inside the Range & Readiness Center.
Cancellation Policy
Students who cancel or reschedule a minimum of 72 hours prior to the start of a class will receive a full refund in the form of store credit. Cancelling or rescheduling less than 72 hours in advance or “No-Shows” will result in forfeiture of 50% of payments and fees (50% will be returned in the form of store credit). 88 Tactical reserves the right to cancel any course offered due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, all students will receive a full refund or credit applied to another class.
