Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Course

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a self-defense martial art that focuses on grappling/ground fighting. By using leverage and proper technique, BJJ allows virtually anyone to fight off and defeat much bigger and stronger opponents.

If you’re thinking about taking our BJJ course but don’t know where to start, check out this video featuring our instructor Josh who explains everything from how to sign up for a class, to discovering the right attire, and mastering the art of wearing the BJJ Gi (uniform for training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu).

Scott Thompson and his team of instructors teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) classes for both kids and adults three times per week at 88 Tactical. Scott trained with Rickson Gracie from 1993 until 2000, when Rickson returned to Brazil. Shortly after, he became an affiliate of Fabio Santos, a RED AND BLACK BELT under the Gracie family and has an academy in San Diego, CA. Scott provides a friendly and encouraging environment in which to learn and apply the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. You will learn true, undiluted Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with rank achieved under Scott Thompson and Fabio Santos. Scott Thompson is the longest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner in the Midwest.
