Women's Basic Handgun Training Courses
Our Women’s Basic Handgun training courses are tailored specifically for new female shooters and taught by a female instructor, providing a supportive and empowering environment for building a solid foundation in handgun training.

Women's Basic Handgun Course Structure
Women’s Basic Handgun is divided into three progressive levels. Upon passing the final level, students qualify to take the Basic Qualification. Intro to Handgun or 88 Tactical’s Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit course is required as a prerequisite, unless waived by a Lead Instructor or higher in the training department.
Women's Basic Handgun Level 1
This course focuses on foundational safety, consistent shooting techniques, and building effective self-defense habits, giving women the confidence and skills to start their defensive handgun journey.
Women's Basic Handgun Level 2
This course builds on the fundamentals introduced in Women's Basic Handgun Level 1, offering practical skills to enhance real-world self-defense capabilities.
Women's Basic Handgun Level 3
This course focuses on correcting grip and trigger control for consistent accuracy, practicing transitions from ready grip to sighted fire, resolving misfires under time pressure, and mastering combat reloads for effective weapon handling in high-pressure situations.
Basic Handgun Qualification
The Basic Qualification allows students to demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course. To pass, students must achieve a score of 70% or higher within three attempts, with each stage completed within a set time limit.*
Upon successful completion, students will receive a Certificate of Completion, a custom pin, and access to the next level of handgun training.
*If students do not pass within three attempts, they can repeat any class in the level at half price for additional practice. For focused training, consider our Women’s Basic Handgun Skill Builder.
