CCW Equipment Requirements

You’re welcome to bring your own personal gear—provided it meets the class standards. Don’t have your own gear? No problem—everything you need is available to rent or purchase at 88 Tactical on the day of your class.

  • Eye and ear protection: ($2-3 Rental)
  • Handgun (pistol or revolver): Must be in safe, working condition, unloaded, and stored in a case before arrival ($15 Rental)
  • Two or more magazines or speed loaders: Included with firearm rentals
  • Sturdy holster and belt: Required for range drills ($5 Rental for most common handguns)
  • 50 rounds of ammunition: Available for purchase on-site. Please call ahead if you need uncommon calibers or during ammo shortages
  • Cover garment for concealment drills: Bring a loose-fitting outer layer (e.g., jacket or open shirt). Avoid V-necks or low-cut tops, as hot brass may cause burns

What to Wear to Your CCW Course

Comfort and functionality are key for your training experience. We recommend:

  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
  • Closed-toe shoes or boots
  • A belt sturdy enough to support your holster and firearm
  • Clothing that allows for easy movement and drawing from a holster
  • Layers that can be adjusted for comfort on the range

Avoid low-cut tops, tank tops, or clothing with excessive openings that could allow hot brass to contact your skin

FAQs About CCW Permit

What is a CCW?

The cost of a BJJ class at 88 Tactical depends on your membership status and payment plan. Non-members can choose to pay per drop-in session at $20/class, or select a more long-term commitment for unlimited classes like $75/month if you sign a 12-month contract or $90/month if payed month-to-month. Non-member families of four save even more, at only $175 month-to-month or $150/month when you choose a long-term contract.
