Basic Safety Course
At 88 Tactical, we value the constitutional right to bear arms, but we also value safety and responsibility. To ensure that everyone has access to the training they need to safely handle a firearm, we’re offering multiple FREE 1-hour safety certification classes for both handguns and AR-15 rifles. You can choose to attend one, or both. Our free one hour firearm essentials basic safety course is open to the public.
These courses are 100% focused on safety and will cover responsible and safe gun storage, the fundamentals of firearms safety, information about accessories, how to handle your firearm around others, how to get an initial zero (in the AR-15 class), and how to load, fire, handle a malfunction, and disassemble and clean your firearm. The training will consist of using ‘dummy” rounds for dry practice. There will be no live fire. This initial course is a great place to start when it comes to responsible gun ownership and learning the basic mechanics of shooting a firearm the right way from the start.
Our expert instructors will help each student become familiar with safe handling and storage of handguns and AR-15 rifles. 88 Tactical recruits and retains the industry’s most experienced instructor cadre from the special operations military, law enforcement, and fire and rescue – many of whom continue to serve today.
These Firearm Essentials Basic Safety Course is offered weekly.
- *Firearms will be provided for class at no charge, but students are encouraged to bring their own firearm (unloaded and in a case) and/or holster.
